This video is a “three for” – three different recipes in one video. French toast, roasted bacon and Bananas Foster (to serve on top of the French toast).
And really…who doesn’t every once in a while love breakfast for dinner???
Now, a few caveats….
(1) The French Toast and the Bananas Foster are EXTREMELY rich. And I mean E X T R E M E L Y. This makes eight slices of toast and the Bananas Foster for each one, but you’ll probably only be able to eat one slice per person. So, you could serve eight people with this.
(2) I find that even though the recipe calls for using shortening for frying the French Toast – use a cooking spray instead, as the shortening can lead to a premature burning of the bread. Yes, that happened to me. Ouch.
(3) If you use a very thick bacon, and want it crispy, you’ll need to cook it 25 minutes rather than the 18 minutes the recipe requires. Cooking it only 18 minutes leaves it rather limp instead of crunchy.
Well, that’s about it for this video. Even though it’s rich, it IS delicious!! Enjoy!!!
