I am someone who has dreamed of having two ovens for I don’t know how long. My kitchen is small and the Viking range I lust over is just not going to happen.
I like to bake and cook and having one oven has really made me learn how to juggle and preplan accordingly. The first thing I noticed about the oven was its look.
It’s very sleek and the French doors give it a really elegant look. The second thing I noticed was its weight. I mentioned my tiny kitchen – this oven is not going to be a part of my counter top accessories every day.
I keep it on a shelf in the basement and then bring it upstairs as needed. I have an old kitchen aid mixer that weighs more than this thing. It’s very light!
I was glad I wasn’t going to have to rely on my husband to be my mule up and down the stairs. The first thing I baked was a cake. I wanted to make two 9” rounds – but the oven was too small.
I couldn’t quite make the pans fit. So I put one in my regular oven and one in this oven. This oven cooked about 10 minutes faster than normal. Had I relied on the timer, I would have burned the cake to a crisp.
As it was I was in the kitchen and was keeping an eye on it – so I pulled it out just in time. It seemed like the cake was a lot darker on the back half – so from that point on I have rotated dishes.
No big deal. The oven gets fairly hot on the top and sides so I wouldn’t put it directly under a cabinet when cooking. I’d pull it out some to let it ventilate a little. It won’t fit two round cake pans together, or a standard cookie sheet.
But it will fit a 9×13 casserole dish, and a frozen pizza, perfectly.I can’t speak intelligently on the convection feature – as I have never used a convection oven, so I haven’t attempted this one.I would recommend getting to know your oven and how it cooks before relying on it for a dinner party, or holiday.
Mine seems to bake a little faster than normal, so I rely on the see through doors an awful lot.Overall, I am excited and happy with my oven. It’s working out nicely for my family.Cherise Everhard, February 2016
I bought this oven to use while our kitchen is under repair. I must say I am not a fan of toaster ovens but this oven is amazing! First of all its huge with the back of the oven rounded out so you can place a pizza pan in the oven.
You can remove a rack so you could put in a nice size roasting pan. I put a few pans in to give an idea of then space inside of the oven. There is a crumb catcher that covers the very bottom and one between the racks th cover in the middle.
The doors stay open until you close them. If you only open them a little they will close back on their own. It is stainless steel. Very nice looking. This will be a great second oven even after the kitchen repairs.
It also has a dehydrating mode! I cant wait to make my beef jerky in this oven.
I just bought this and it seems great! It fits a papa Murphy’s Family size pizza and it cooks great. It is sitting on our broken oven in case you were wondering. The cord is very short and it isn’t in the middle, it is on the right side.
I bought this to save money on electricity and not heating my kitchen up in the summer like a full oven does, becuase I bake so much. My electric bill dropped by $60 a month using this.
I bake a lot of bread, this works great and on…
