In 1983, the first La Madeleine bakery opened its doors in the heart of Dallas. The founder, Patrick Leon Esquerré, came to America with the tastes of French countryside and memories of mealtimes that revolved around homegrown, hand-prepared food, friends and family, and heartfelt conversation. Patrick missed the joys of his hometown so much that he decided to bring a little bit of home to his new life in Texas.
Thanks to the advice and support of Stanley Marcus, of Neiman Marcus fame, who believed in Patrick’s dreams, there are now over 70 locations of La Madeleine French Bakery & Cafes. With breakfast and bakery items, our famous chicken la madeleine and tomato basil soup, dinner and wine pairings, and our famous pastries, we have stayed true to Patrick’s integrity of French cuisine.
