If you are a wine connoisseur, you have heard about St Emilion.
Even though St Emilion is by far not just about wine, wine DOES play an important part in the life and the vibes of St Emilion.

When you stroll up and down the streets of St Emilion for the first time, you are truly in awe. Why? Because St Emilion features a very, very high concentration of unique, exceptional, historical landmarks including a very rare, monolithic church of massive proportions built in one underground rock. It is breath taking. No pictures are allowed there, so I cannot show you in, but I can tell you, the visit is out of this world.
The cloister, the wash houses, the covent… just “picture perfect”…

Not to forget some nice shops… with delicious looking treats (“goumandises”), some nice terrasses…

Of course, being a medieval town in France, St Emilion is fortified, meaning surrounded with ramparts.

The town of St Emilion is a wonderful combination of history and elegance. Uniquely French, may I say… almost mystifying, for sure fascinating.
Even though small, there is a lot to see there.
Not to forget: the surrounding vineyards – At just about every corner there, you are reminded that you really ARE in the wine country, so … enjoy every aspect of it, and don’t go there without tasting the local wine, the St Emilion, of course!
