Policemen were seen protesting in the centre of the French capital, following the remarks of the country’s President Emmanuel Macron on police violence and government’s intentions to re-write part of a security bill protecting policemen’s identity, Monday.
One of the policemen protesters said, “I speak on behalf of the colleagues who are behind me, who suffer every day outside, who are molested, burned, abused, harassed.”
“We must know that it also impacts our families, his wife, his children, parents also, who also suffer that their police children are permanently abused and harassed. It affects a lot of people and we need this support. Without that, we won’t move forward,” he added.
