French Toast Casserole

Equipment
9 x 13 Baking Dish
Baking Sheet
Mixing bowl
Whisk

Ingredients
20oz. – Cinnamon Swirl or Cinnamon Streusel Bread.
**You can use French bread, sourdough, or any type of bread you prefer. Just cut it down to (16oz.) of bread.**
2 Cups – Whole Milk.
1/2 Cup – Packed Dark Brown Sugar.
10 – Large Eggs.
2 tsp – Pure Vanilla Extract.
1-2 tsp – Ground Cinnamon.
1 tsp – Fine Sea Salt.
Butter or Cooking Spray (To Grease Baking Dish).

Directions
1. Take bread and cut it into similar sized chunks. **To dry out bread, layer evenly onto baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes in a 350 degree oven.**
2. Grease the baking dish (bottom and about half way up the sides).
3. Crack 10 eggs into mixing bowl, pour in two cups of whole milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract.
4. Whisk egg mixture thoroughly.
5. Place bread in baking dish.
6. Pour egg mixture evenly across casserole.
7. Cover with foil and place in fridge for a minimum of two hours (best if allowed to set overnight).
8. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes (Ours took about 1 hour).
**We found that keeping the casserole covered with foil for the first 30 minutes prevents the bread from getting too dried out. Uncover for the remaining 20 to 30 minutes.**
9. Once casserole has risen and bread is nicely browned, take a toothpick and check multiple spots for doneness (if toothpick comes out clean the casserole is done).

ENJOY!!
