Always seeking purity of fruit and an expression of terroir from his precious old Dundee Hill vines, third generation Oregon winemaker Jim Maresh has crafted a beautiful Dundee Hills Pinot from the stellar 2018 vintage. This year’s wine comes from the Maresh, Dux, Anderson Family and Weber vineyards. Relying on old vines and traditional, low intervention production methods, the wine has a bright ruby color. The nose reveals a mix of red and black cherry with hints of clove, allspice, and graphite as the wine opens up. The silky palate delivers elegant flavors of raspberry and black cherry with hints of black tea and potpourri. After 18 months in aged French Oak, the tannin is firm and leads to a savory finish with hints of cherry skin, mushroom, and spice. A classic Dundee Hills Pinot with a bright future ahead of it should you choose to cellar it.
