so my husband and i are finally replacing the sad builder grade light in our living room and we have completely hit a wall on this one.
we found two very different chandeliers. both from parrot uncle. but we cannot agree at all.
our style is kind of an eclectic mix, some vintage and industrial pieces, dark accent wall, a little bit of everything. i got way too deep into this and used chatgpt to mock up what each one would look like in the space. honestly pretty useful for visualizing stuff like this.
option a is my pick. the woven rattan one from parrot uncle. i love the warmth and texture it brings in, feels like it ties together all the wood tones and just makes the room feel more grounded and cozy. very much my vibe.
option b is my husbands pick. the white candle chandelier also from parrot uncle. his whole argument is that its a classic dramatic statement piece that actually fits the scale of the room and works better with the more traditional elements we already have going on. he is not wrong but i am still not convinced.
we have officially handed the decision over to reddit. highest vote wins. we are ordering it tonight, no take backs.
drop ur vote.

I’ve never seen anything like that first one before. I’m not sure what kind of room it would be best in. I don’t think it suits your room and you could probably find some better options.
Agree with you about the colors of the second one fitting in with the rest of the room more.
The woven lamp is more conventional but doesn’t fit the rest of the vibe tbh. I like the candle light a lot! It’d be a bitch to clean though… lol
Team rattan. With a dark accent wall and an eclectic/industrial mix, the woven texture is going to ground the room and pick up your wood tones. The candle chandelier leans more formal than the vibe you’re describing, which might make it feel like it’s fighting the rest of the room a little.
Rattan. The other one looks like giant tampons.
The white one looks like it hangs too low and also looks messy.
The white one makes me uncomfortable.
My answer is not helpful bc I think you’re both right. 😬
I *love* the warmth and texture of your pick – and I agree it makes the room feel more grounded and cozy.
That said, while I really hate Option B (more on that below), your husband *IS* correct in that *his* choice fits the scale of the room better.
Okay, now back to Option B – I don’t have sensory issues or anything like that, but all those candlesticks give me the heebies, like when you see a seed pod with a million little holes and sort of internally shudder…. I think if there were like 30% fewer candlesticks, I might like it better, but as is, it looks like a million slenderman fingers. Lol
So! My solution would be to look for a fixture that combines the warmth of rattan in a larger size / structure that better fits the scale of the room.
But if I *had* to pick, congrats! Option A gets my vote.
The candle one looks like AI generated an image of prompt “chaotic chandelier”. Definitely go with the rattan.
Rattan for sure, that was my first thought before even reading your post.
That first one is horrid, sorry. Not a fan of the second either, but it’s definitely better.
Anything but the white light
