Interior design and just general decorating is not my forte sadly..I would love some advice as to how I can make my small living room more cosy and add some character to it? I think I would love to add some darker colours to the room and make it less “beige”
What would you guys suggest? 🙏🏼

Color. Stuff on the walls. Plants.
Color is your friend. If youre able to Id paint the walls, preferably a dark color, navy blue is awesome. Get some plants, pictures on the wall, dark red or golden brown curtains go good with navy blue.
This room is so white. It’s almost impressive how colourless it is.
I’m not going to give you specific colour advice because it’s important that _you_ like it, not me. Do you like warm summery colours, terracotta, ochre yellow? Or moody colours, sage greens, browns and dark blues? Teals? Pinks? There must be a colour scheme that you enjoy.
Start with a mood board and from there, create a pallette with colours that speak to you. That pallette is going to be your starting point.
Then first, try these simple fixes: buy some coloured pillow covers in your chosen colours. I would also source an actual TV stand instead of that little table (something with doors so that you can hide all that clutter). I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone put stuff on top of their TV? And I’d hang curtains; I always think those make any space 50% cosier.
Add a coffee table (NOT black or white). Try to find some wall art that you like, in your colour pallette, to cover these bare walls.
And if you have the funds and time for it, paint the walls anything else than this stark white, and or swap out the rug for something colourful (this one somehow looks like a white rug that got dirty).
