Is this a joke/troll post?
Paint the ceilingโฆ cozy
Light fixture, table, rug, ceiling color
Replace the curtains with something colorful and patterned. That’s really the only opportunity for color and interest in the room.
Change the boob light. To me, the curtains feel too heavy in such an enclosed space. I think Roman shades or something like that would look nicer.
Change out the curtains to something with a pattern. Since you don’t have any wall art, treat the curtains so they fulfill that function of color, pattern, interest.
Then change the ceiling light to a chandelier.
Pictures should always be at eye level. A couple of inches from touching the ceiling is way too high. Also the blue curtains just scream blue sheet guy.
I would lose the curtains and do a simple chandelier
In the first image, some color would look nice. Maybe change the carpet with a handwoven colorful rug instead of the plain tufted one
A warmer colour of curtains.
The dining room rug is giving bathmat vibes, plus a rug like that will catch every single crumb from the dinner table. Get a[ flatweave rug](https://ruggable.com/products/jonathan-adler-inkdrop-black-ivory-tufted-rug?size=6×9&system=rug-cvr) with a pattern.
The textiles aren’t quite right. You need a flat rug with some color instead of the fluffy white one. And the curtains should be a less heavy material. Right now the space feels very lopsided and heavy because all the weight (curtains, table, rug) are on one half.
