2015 Was a warm dry vintage that produced small berries and concentrated fruit, which is confirmed by this particular Brunello. It’s a deep colored wine with concentrated dark fruit (dark cherry, blackberry, black currant), and after an hour open it followed with black tea, coffee, cigar box, cedar, saddle, forest floor, wet gravel, anise, and graphite. Fine chalky tannins. Despite concentration, it is elegant and refined. Long finish.

My first time having this producer. The story is uplifting….Owner Gigliola Giannetti worked up the nerve to leave Biondi-Santi as an office assistant to eventually start this winery, and now runs it with her daughters. Gigliola laughs when she recalls her father imploring, “You don’t understand anything,” as he tried to dissuade her from leaving a steady job with Biondi-Santi. ( source: wine spectator)
