Less than 200 bottles produced only in the great vintages, this wine is 100% ansonica from the isola d’Elba. After harvest the grapes are immersed in the sea for a period of 5 days at a depth of 30m. This helps to promote an osmotic exchange lightly concentrating sugars and acids while contributing to the wine’s characteristic strong saline imprint. The grapes are then air and sun dried for further concentrating sugars, acids and aromas. After fermentation the wine rests for approximately six months in traditional Tuscan amphorae in contact with the skins.
Nose: intense and very evolved with notes of dried apricot, candied orange peel, figs, Mediterranean herbs and very clear iodine and marine nuances. It ends with slight oxidative notes of nuts and light caramelization.
Palate: rich and full-bodied, with high extract and a wonderful glyceric texture. The sweetness is balanced by marked sapidity and fresh acidity ,creating tension and precision. The finish is very long, persistent and slightly oxidative. The aromas are the same as to the nose.
