I had my IKEA kallax cabinets ‘professionally’ painted over (but I am not convinced they did it ‘properly’) when I had the walls of my living room painted.

I now have to move (as I rent and the property is being sold), and am wanting to change the colour of the kallax again.

They were white. Now black. I want a light fresh vibe for my new home.

Can I apply a grippy undercoat over the black paint let that cure and then apply a couple of coats of a light colour paint?

Could I skip the grippy undercoat and just layer on layers of light paint??

Or should it be stripped of the black and start again?

Or should I get rid of the current cabinet and buy something else??
