This wine hails from Entre-Deux-Mers and consists of 50% merlot, 25% cabernet sauvignon, and 25% cabernet franc. It is unoaked, which is interesting to me.

On the nose, spiced plum and hints of blueberry with bay leaf, eucalyptus, sweet tobacco, and a hint of cocoa. Some light purple florals are present.

The wine’s color is a deep ruby with a slightly fuchsia-tinted rim. The body is lighter than expected, more of a medium plus to full minus. Acidity is a good, refreshing medium plus; enough to make you crave more. Tannins are medium plus and remarkably smooth (likely due to dominant merlot), preferring to sit in the cheeks and back of the mouth.

The palate begins with blackberry and a hint of cherry; mineralic tones, bay leaf, and a vanilla tone. The midpalate has graphite, herbs, brambly blackberry, and cocoa. The finish begins with a slightly reductive smoky note alongside bay leaf, spiced plum, and grey minerality.
