Got to drink this at a food pairing party recently. This Beaut lead with forest floor plum and tar. Velvety tannins with a long rocky finish.
I was shocked to still taste lots of fruit and acidity on this wine. Excellent experience but certainly wouldn’t pay the price for this.
I forget exactly what was paired with this wine but it was similar to a Steak Diane

I love Mouton Rothschild, they’re my go to first growth. Next one up for me is 1998. Glad you had a chance to enjoy it.
