Here's a picture of the accent wall in question. I don't like that blue (the picture makes it look better than it is), it feels too dark for a living room and I want something lighter, something that will breathe fresh life into the room instead of squelch it.

I have absolutely no eye for color, so if you could be super specific about paint numbers and/or specific paint colors (i.e. "Revere Pewter" instead of "beige") that would be super helpful.

PS The piano isn't here anymore so don't worry about matching the two

I dont mind the blue but I tend to like dark colors clashing with bright.

That being said a light shade of green would look good there with all the white and the wood accents.

There are so many colors that can work here. Look for higher LRV and place up samples on a large white poster board with ample space between the colors for a few days at least. I imagine you know this, but just in case, you will have to primer this wall before you paint it to the next color.

Here’s a place to start: https://www.behr.com/consumer/colors/paint/popular-colors/colors-by-hue/blues. Click on the hue you like and it will offer suggestions. I encourage a LRV of 50 or higher. It seems like you have a good amount of natural light in here to take advantage of 🩵 good luck ✨

I did mine in a Smokey blue and it looks amazing, you should also reconsider the sheen and maybe choose a matte finish. It will show fewer imperfections

  4. What do you have in the rest of the room? It would be helpful to see what other colors you have to make a nice cohesive space for you.

This sounds like an aimless project. You need inspiration to have a vision for the entire space & the rest of the home. Get on Pinterest and build a board so you’re creating with things you like & that look cohesive together. A piece of artwork is a good way to start a color scheme & vibe for each area. Then select textiles & paint from the colors.

It’s so shiney right now, would def go towards a matte finish

Do you have a photo of your rug, art or other furnishings? Those can be helpful when it comes to recommending wall colors.

That being said, here are some colors off the top of my head that are options.
Evergreen Fog, Accacia Haze, Oyster Bay , Quietude, all from Sherwin Williams.

From Benjamin Moore, Abalone, Silver Fox, Manchester Tan, October Mist, Saybrook Sage,
    Woodlawn Blue, Wedgewood Gray.

All these colors can be viewed online, and be ordered through Samplize.
