Hi, my husband and I are downsizing. Our kids are off to college and we dont do much entertaining anymore. We are moving into our new home in April. The home does not really have a formal living room. I would like to split the living room and put our formal couch a small table and 2 chairs in the front by the window and then our dining table- a standard rectangle table- seats 6 at the other end of the room. Then the area off the kitchen- make that a family room. couch facing the fireplace and TV.
My reasoning- my mother passed away- I have her formal furniture and cant part with it- but its not for lounging on. Ive attached photos and dimensions- any advice is greatly appreciated.
PS photos from the pics are from the listing- not my furniture.

If it all fits in there without looking crowded, I it sounds OK.
I’m confused – do you have photos of the ‘formal’ furniture? Or is this about aranging what you have shown?
TBH, (assuming the sectional is not what you’re referring to), I’d get rid of it and get new couches for the living room that fit the space (the sectional is far too big). Your dining area looks ok.
