I am going to get lamps for the nightstands and a rug for under the bed. Pillows for the bed and a blanket to add more layers/texture. Maybe a plant somewhere.

I feel like it is kinda blah. I want to add some color, what would look good? What else would tie to together? And should I get a different duvet cover?

You can change color of the wall behind the bed or even a wallpaper, then some wall arts or a shelf with some decorations on top of it.

Definitely lamps or maybe even sconces on either side of the bed.

Does any sunlight come in here? Consider that before adding plants.

Bedding is an easy way to add colour and pattern. You could add art above the headboard. If you do, get a wide piece.

I really like your ideas. Start adding things step by step so that you don’t buy a bunch of stuff that won’t work here.

Lamps and a rug are a great idea to add first.
If possible, you can paint this wall an accent color. Your windows most definitely need curtains to tie it all together.

After curtains, I’d start planning and adding wall decor, like hanging plants and frames. You should lay out the frame arrangement with painters tape first – helps visualize.

I’d pick a pallet you wanna build around. Whether it’s blue colors with bright yellow or green with orange etc. cuz your bed is black, which will work with many other combinations.

I learned that leaving bed sheet color neutral (white or beige) can help open up more color combinations.

Lumbar pillow and accent pillows (should be added last) will help tie it all together.

We love a good wallpapered wall behind a bed!

Or maybe hanging lighting on either side of the bed?

Everyone has already given such great advice! Something that has helped me get to place where I love my room is saving inspiration from Pinterest and magazines. I collect a variety of images and then look at the commonalities between them that caught my eye. This really helps prevent you from rushing to decorate just to fill space. It allows you to be more intentional and not purchase based on trends that come and go.
