I just painted my bedroom and am looking for inspiration and advice. The room is this pretty green.

I want to do orange accents like the rug ans curtains I've got in the collage.

Where im struggling is the bedframe. Photo 3 is what I think we are going to buy, but I dont know what colour to stain it. I think I'll have to stain it myself to get the right look so I want to see examples of what other people's rooms look like.

You can see the samples (oak and maple) in image 4. I put 3 different stains I had on hand on the unfinished samples. I think we will likely do oak as it takes stain better than maple.

Image 5 is just inspo furniture.

Image 6 is another frame i like but its way more expensive and im worried too much pattern with the curtains and rug.

Side note: Finding a Cal king solid wood bedframe has been difficult.

All of the woods you seem to like are dark woods, but you’re thinking of staining the wood in oak which is super light. I’m not sure what aesthetic you are going for based on that.

A dark wood would go better with the darker green IMO, as it lends itself to mid-century modern (which a lot of your examples seem to lean into).

Think about how the wood will work with the orange you are choosing as a complementary colour. If it’s a rust or terracotta, that’s a very different tone than an orange. Woods can lean different tones, like more red, or orange or green. Maybe see how a fabric sample looks against the wood and wall at the same time.

It’s easy to repaint a wall – it’s much harder to re-stain wood or replace textiles and furniture.
