I just bought the credenza and before I start regretting my decision, what are some suggestions that wouldn’t cost much or anything. I know I need a new coffee table.

the painting behind the credenza is quite large. I am thinking of overlapping it a bit rather then have it sit on top of it. It felt heavy and domineering that way.

what should i do with the floating shelves. I am open to repositioning them. man designing is so hard

style wise: I like cozy, eclectic, with an MCM touch

Definitely hang the painting. There is a ton of visual weight on the credenza and redistributing it upward by hanging the painting will help it feel more balanced

I would hang the red/orange painting. The room feels a bit bottom heavy right now and moving the art up would give more vertical variation/interest.

The credenza is nice, I can see a few adjustments to make though. I would put the art and tv on the wall. There is a lot of wood in the room so I would also remove the rug and swap for a different colour that isn’t from the red family.

The painting should be up on the wall not resting atop the credenza. It looks like there is space for it to do that with space between the credenza… it’s actually fabulous and should be hung centered between top of credenza and ceiling. You can put two sturdy picture mounts up there for it, and it should be fine. You need just enough negative space of some wall showing between the credenza and painting to really balance that wall but the little bit of it the painting that is showing just does not do anything for your space as it is.

Paint the walls! The cool grey-ish color doesn’t really match the furniture and art, or provide any interest.
