We currently have carpet in our living room with some tile in the entryway. We are looking to update it with either porcelain tiles or white oak hardwood.
I am not able to come up with anything that make it attractive by the entryway. I don’t want the same style to run. I also want some transition and some tile because it’ll protect the wooden floor. The way you see it is as if you were standing at the front door.
Please help me select what looks good and the design that will wow. I am already leaning white oak. FYI we live in Texas.

I like the first two with the wood running in different directions. It defines the entrance space and living area. The marble is a bit cold.
