I’m planning to replace the old carpet with laminate and need help choosing the right color. I’m looking for something that will work well with fairly neutral laminate on the first floor and the rich cherry railing.

Replacing the railing is not an option, there’s more of it upstairs (see the third photo), and I strongly prefer not to re-stain it either. Do any of these laminate samples would work in this space?

The first two pics show the same area taken without and then with the lights on.

The white paper represents white risers. My thinking is that using white risers might help the stairs read as their own element, not a mismatched continuation of the first floor flooring. Am I right?

Since there are quite a few samples here, maybe it would help to take an elimination approach first and then refine the remaining options?

I’d appreciate any feedback or suggestions. TIA!

There’s lots of options!! My eye is drawn to the 2nd one from the right with what you have going on.

I’m a fan of the fourth from the left

I feel like I would try to match the existing flooring as close as possible; can you take a pic with the laminate samples on the floor instead?

Right now my guess is the solo one on the second step looks like it matches closest, followed by 2nd one from the right side of the photo

I would match the downstairs floor. Is it possible to find the same laminate? It would be worth the effort IMO.
