I have a 2-year-old, and he ended up breaking one of the table lamps in the bedroom. When I bought my house, they did not have ceiling lights in the bedrooms. So I hired an electrician to come install three lights in each of the rooms, and when he told me the price, it was such an amazing deal that I said okay, what about the hall light? The hall light was old and dated. He said All right, I'll put the hall light in for 25 bucks. So now I have peace of mind that my son won't break any more lamps, but also my house is becoming more of a home everyday.
