If it’s functioning please do not cover it lol. Maybe a nice frame as long as it has enough space around the edges, & make it part of a gallery/art wall of sorts?

For safety reasons, I wouldn’t cover it or alter it in any way. If I were stuck with it, I’d personally play it up and maybe frame it in a solid bold color as “art”.

You should primarily consider lowering it down. It is definitely not efficient as a heater, since hot air travels upwards.

Assuming this is a radiator, I don’t see why a radiator cover would be dangerous. Many big city apartments have them.
After checking for safety issues, I would do a floor to ceiling radiator cover or install a fake secretary with the top portion that looks like a radiator cover and the bottom portion being usable drawers.
