Big fireplace in the centre of my house you can see it from the back in the kitchen and it's face front as soon as you come into my house. The brick before had like weird yellow bricks in it that were kind of offputting so I figured I'd limewash the fireplace, but I don't know looking back now. I feel like when I put in flooring, probably a darker vinyl flooring, the old brick would've looked just fine. Its jut very white like I tried stressing it but clearly I didn't stress it enough I do plan on replacing the wood trim stuff with something more modern down the road but curious what you guys think. Before and after and a picture of the living room for "context"
Thanks 🙂

Personally, I think it was better before. The white you chose is too stark. The original stone felt cozier and worked better with the wood.
Yes
Yup
Ooooh. Yeah 🙁 Can you change it back?!
I think it’s just as bad both ways
It may look so stark white because it’s contrasting against the off-white walls. You could potentially paint those walls another color if that seems easier than trying to undo the lime wash.
At this point, leave it until you’ve got the rest of the changes made. THEN decide if it looks as bad as it does now.
You already rushed into limewashing it, so you don’t want to rush into undoing it, so just wait until you can see how it will look in the completed room before messing with it again.
Definitely try and remove it. Sorry.
I’m sorry, but I don’t think painted brick ever looks good.
