In really good shape, while still drinking young.
Gave this a half hour decant before dinner, then let it open up for another 90 minutes.
Enjoyed with dinner at Casaro Osteria in SF.
I'd say those two hours were necessary to reach the peak, but maybe it could have opened up even more with time.
Tannins have softened with age, great acidity on the palate.
Red cherry, blueberry, rosemary notes, maybe some slight cranberry as well?
Also got some cocoa powder and cinnamon, but very slight.
This is the most age I've had on Flaccianello and this tells me the wine can age for a long time.
Paired well with the meal, but especially the yellow tomato buratta pizza.
92 points.
