I was surprised at the condition of the cork being in such good shape, i was a bit nervous to decant so I did a bit in the glass. color was brick/blood red. first taste it was a bit tight, so after some time poured another and gave it some time to get some air in the glass. it started to open up and the nose was leather, tobacco, spice, and just a small bit left of fruit, dark plums and red fruits. i think it may be at the beginning of it's peak since there was only so much that it opened up on the palette, but still solid after 26 years. some tannins and acid left, but a bit watered down feeling and medium on the finish. still a great price on winebid vs what a recent vintage would be, but wondering how this would be on a better year and more recent. paired with beef skewers and a hamburger. still a great wine and glad we had this on my birthday dinner to celebrate 38 with a 26 year old wine. overall 88/100.

Stunning bottle.
This is a great wine and a personal favorite of my CFO. He gifted me a bottle a few years ago and it did not disappoint. Very good producer and wine.
