I like the texture of this swatch, and it does come in a blackout option. It’s such an expensive undertaking that I’m worried to get light filtering and feel like I then need to add blackout curtains, particularly so because my home has asymmetric windows in all the bedrooms (centered for the visual outside, not the room itself) and trying to figure out curtains feels like another pain.

Edited to add – my husband works a job where he is sometimes on call / post call, and two of the rooms would be for infant / small kids. So blackout does appeal to me for that reason.

If you’re a light-sensitive sleeper or need daytime naps, non-blackout curtains will make you regret

I think you won’t regret the blackout blinds. They will most likely do a better job and look better than blackout curtains, and gives you more options to choose curtains or not. Beautiful fabric you’ve chosen!

Yes. I went with non blackout and might as well have left them uncovered. Never again.

The answer is yes. You will always regret it. And think about the days when you are super ill and just want to sleep in cool blackness

Someone else said two layers, I agree with that. This can be the outer aesthetic option, but under them, you could have pull down blackout shades or more curtains (Like sheers but like opposite)
