Hi everyone, After decades of living with my parents and then as a couple, I’m finally living in my own apartment for the first time in my life!

My current living room follows an industrial style (wood, leather, and black metal). It's fairly minimalist with multiple light sources.

I moved in last week, so a few things are still missing:

  • A plant to the left of the TV stand.
  • The plant currently on the bookshelf will be hanging above the dining table (which stays against the wall normally, but moves to the center when I host my kids or friends).
  • Another floor lamp behind the front door (to the right of the piano).
  • A large rectangular mirror with a raw wood frame above the sofa (recovering it from my old house soon).
  • I’m also planning to add a black metal or wicker pendant light for the main ceiling fixture.
  • My electric guitar (Fender Stratocaster), which will be wall-mounted to the right of the piano.

I have two main questions for you:

  1. Wall Art: What kind of paintings/prints should I go for? Which style and where should I place them?
  2. Adding Color: Despite my multicolor smart lighting, the room feels a bit dull during the day. How can I add a pop of color while staying true to a clean, industrial aesthetic? Note: I can’t use curtains because of a radiator located to the right of the window.

I feel like once the plants, mirror, and ceiling light are in, the artwork will be the key to bringing the room to life. That said, feel free to tell me if my decor is terrible and I need to rethink everything! 😅

Thanks in advance for your help!

God these questions are so fucking stupid. What do you like? What looks good to you? Why ask strangers on the internet what you should put in your house. Do you have a personality of your own? If you like it put it up. This is stupid.
