    **Christophe Lindenlaub Ami-Amis 2024**

    **Region:** Alsace, France

Cofermented blend of 50% Pinot Noir & 50% Pinot Gris

Purchased at Wild Wines in Brooklyn, NY

**Nose:** Aromas of sour cherries, tangerine, peaches, and vibrant floras, all encased in a super juicy, bright core of dark fruit bramble that perks up the nose nicely. The bouquet opens up nicely as it warms up after the chill that is quite alluring I’d say.

**Palate:** Strikes zesty immediately with more of those sour cherries, blood orange, apricot, with a backbone of gingerly spice and a slight herbal stemminess behind it. The finish is admittedly short and narrow, but this is made up for with a nice juicy profile that makes it utterly sessionable. Medium low acidity, medium tannins that have just enough “bite” to them to tie the wine all together into a tightly woven package when paired with this “crunchy” minerality that the wine showcases.

**Additional Thoughts:** The importer/distributor Super Glou calls this cuvee “a wine who’s texture who would be suede if they had to pick one” and as a red wine with the soul of a white wine. I feel like these are pretty apt descriptors for it (maybe more the latter than the former) but this was quite nice all things considered, drank quite nicely over the course of the few hours I had it over on Easter Sunday.

As a person who generally has reviewed a lot of mezcal and rum over the years on reddit, I wanted to make my return to wine reviewing using a bit of that in terms of the formatting here while also highlighting the establishments where I purchased the wine, whether it be a restaurant, bar, or wine store to add a bit more personalization to these. More to come, I hope to do these with more frequency and encourage others to do the same if they are inspired by my reviews. And of course, I’d love to hear if people have had the wine before or wines from the producer.
