Hello, I'm hosting a rehearsal dinner at a Contemporary Southern/American restaurant and was having trouble choosing a white and red to serve to guests.
I know prices are not the best, but what would you recommend in this case? Also corkage is $50/bottle for reference. Thanks in advance!

What’s on the menu for the dinner? That should drive pairings.
Some good options here but my suggestions would be:
White:
– Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio
– Au Bon Climat (if it’s a smaller group and you’re willing to ball a little bit)
Red:
– Ridge Three Valleys (Fantastic well rounded red)
Depends on budget – generally Riesling Kabinett is safe for whites, Bordeaux for reds. If in Wisconsin skip the wine and get Korbel brandy for old-fashioneds and mixers.
Thank you! Sorry for the lack of details; it’ll most likely be gnocchi, fish almondine, and grilled beef/duck for the menu. For <60 people
