We recently bought a house with a northeast-facing family room, and to make things worse, there’s a tall tree from the neighbor blocking a lot of the light.

The photos were taken around 1pm, and the foyer is super bright but the living room is still really dark.

Both ChatGPT and Gemini suggested using mirrors, but they’re saying different things:

  1. one says put it above the TV

  2. the other says put it opposite the windows

I have zero knowledge about angles, so I’m trying to figure out what actually works in real life.

Also both suggested putting a ~32-inch convex mirror in the backyard to bounce sunlight in… which honestly sounds kinda ridiculous to me lol

Could you recommned where is the best to put the mirror in the room..?
