New space in home addition. Not sure about adding a large houseplant since we may use some of the space for additional seating, but we’re not very good with decorating walls.
Bookshelves. Pictures. Lamp. Could fit a chair beside the bookshelf.

You could always do hang plants or set some on shelves. If you wanted something different you could even do a moss wall feature. Either way, it would still allow you to have some greenery AND seating.
