Probably not a good or useful recommendation at all but we had these types of cabinets in my old apartment and I put my snowboard up there 😂 easy display and decluttered

Nope. Whatever you put up there just gets covered in a layer of airborne cooking grease and then the first layer of dust sticks to it and subsequent layers settle on top of the previous layer. It’s best left empty. You don’t need to draw the eye up there anyway.

I’ve previously put some fake small plants up there. My grandparents put their decorative/ collection plates. My parents put some glass art work (vases mostly).

I put my cookbooks up there and keep a ladder stool in the kitchen so I can reach them.

I’ve got a few wicker baskets and a couple of vintage wooden boxes/crates. Just things I don’t really use stored in them, and I think it adds a bit of interest

I put in some flux flowers greens, and a few oversized vases to fill the void.
