I'm sitting on a couch that clicks and cracks with every movement. Cost me $3,000. Took 4 months to arrive.
Cushions misaligned by half an inch. Entire backside sounds like it's breaking apart.
I tried to return it online. System blocked me: "Item not delivered."
I'm literally sitting on it.
Called customer service four times. Disconnected every single time when I tried to leave a message.
Finally got through. Told to wait 24-48 hours because their system doesn't show it as delivered yet.
8:30 PM: Mid-conversation, system disconnects. Automated cutoff.

So I did research.
Turns out this isn't isolated. Hundreds of complaints from January-March 2026 alone. Identical patterns:
Ghost delivery loop (system says not delivered while product is in your home)
Defective furniture arriving after months of delays
Customer service with zero authority to override system lags
Automated disconnects at shift transitions
Then I found the financial reports.
Otto Group (Crate & Barrel's parent company) just announced "best result in company history."
Profitability up 3,350%. Revenue flat.
They achieved record profits by cutting costs after you pay.
I documented everything. The patterns. The financial motive. The infrastructure failures.
If you're considering buying from Crate & Barrel, read this first.
If you've experienced this, you're not alone. The pattern is systemic.

TL;DR: Paid $3K for broken couch. System won't let me return it because database says it was never delivered. Researched and found this is systematic cost-cutting disguised as "record profitability." Documented everything.

I guess you better do a charge back since they don’t deliver it
I have two chairs and one sofa from them and they’re the absolute worst furniture in my house. Every seam started to pull apart almost as soon as we sat on them. The material stains if you look at it funny, like the fabric isn’t treated at all and every pair of pants that touches it leaves a dye. How is that even possible. My 10 year old couch that this stuff was supposed to replace literally looks better than the C&B stuff after a year.
Thanks ChatGPT.
File a lawsuit pro se. prob win a default judgement bc they won’t bother to defend it. Then you can go to a retail outlet and collect 🤣
AI
Did you really need to make the AI “crate barrel” picture though
So…if they show it was never delivered then don’t they owe you a refund for the item? Or, as someone else said, do a charge back on your credit card providing the documentation that the company is saying it was never delivered.
