2023 Lukas Hammelmann Spätburgunder Hochstadt
This is a delicious bottle of Village level Pinot Noir from the talented Lukas Hammelmann, with the ‘Aus Den Dörfern’ or ‘from the villages’ identification on the label. The 2023 seems a bit less ‘age worthy’ compared to the 2022 version of this wine, but is extremely compelling all the same.
Juicy plums, berries and pomegranates flood the senses in this wonderfully giving Pinot Noir. There is some density there, but drinks with great elegance and immediacy. Tons of pleasure with layers of red fruit on a backbone of savory minerality.
