Hey everyone, I’m looking for advice on dealing with this herringbone accent wall in my bedroom. The previous owners installed a gray herringbone accent wall, we hated it but did not want to rip off and put new Sheetrock up so we tried painting it an off white color color to “disguise”to save some costs. Unfortunately, we still hate it. I really want it gone—but I’m trying to avoid ripping it down and dealing with new drywall. Has anyone done a budget-friendly fix for something like this? I’d love to hear DIY ideas
Whether it’s filling in the the groves(if even an option)
I would love to have a faux lime wash or faux Venetian plaster effect instead
All tips welcome and thanks in advance!

What is behind the herringbone? How it it affixed?
Move that bed over to the right a bit and center the nightstand to the window. Fixed.
It’s wood so it swells, shrinks so I don’t think filling it will help much. Plus that is ALOT of work (layers and layers). I’ve done it. Unless you fill and then put a paintable wallpaper over it you won’t be happy. Why not just drywall right over it? Saves ripping it out. Thin drywall won’t alter too much and will achieve what you want with far less work.
