Went to a Guffens-Heynen dinner at Verse a few weeks back. The wines showed well, but couple bangers got pulled from the list.
2006 Domaines Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
Dark and savory—blackberry, olive, smoked meat, pepper, and a touch of leather. Still structured but starting to soften; long, earthy finish. This was special, so we ran it back. Second bottle was equally up to the task.
2017 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Nuits-Saint-Georges
Silky and pure—red cherry, raspberry, rose, and light spice. Elegant, balanced, and just glides. Perhaps the finest example of NSG I’ve ever had. Magic in a bottle.

I’m guessing by the pictures the Pouilly got pulled from your line up? Such a shame, but bloody great notes either way. Thank you for the write up!
How were the ‘24 Vergets showing? I’ve got a whole bunch of them in my cellar.
