Tabalí is a Chilean winery located in the northern part of the country in the Limarí Valley region, known for its cool coastal climate and exceptional conditions for growing grapes.
The Talinay vineyard is located in a very unusual place, near Fray Jorge National Park in an area recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve. This region was once covered by the ocean and as a result the soil is rich in limestone and very porous and cracked.
“Caliza” means limestone in Spanish and directly refers to the soil where grapes for this wine are grown.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay.
Color: straw-yellow with greenish highlights.
On the nose: notes of green apple, lemon zest and green mango, giving it a citrusy-fruity, slightly exotic character. These are complemented by chalky minerality and a subtle hint of sea breeze, which brings a feeling of freshness and a slightly salty accent.
On the palate: the wine is crisp with high acidity. The minerality is noticeable and the finish is medium-long, clean, and refreshing.
