So I have this strange water heater situation above my washer and dryer. Please ignore the clutter on the shelves and all.. but I really need ideas on how I should make this look any better. I’d like to hide it as much as possible. Open to any ideas thank you!

I would put up a shower curtain rod (one of those cheap adjustable ones you get from me Home Depot) hang a curtain with a pattern you like to cover the whole thing when you’re not using it.
I would probably look into options about cabinet facings for this spot. It’s hard to tell how far the heater component sticks out though from the photo.
