I brought my son home in December and since then my living room has become a hodgepodge of stuff. What would you change/ where would you move things? I want it to be less tv/toy focused. I’m definitely taking some of his decor off the walls, this was his makeshift room for awhile. Any help is appreciated 🙂

  1. I was surprised to read it was a living room, I thought it was a den or office at first haha

I think the main thing it needs is a distinct area for sitting that’s cohesive and comfortable, right now everything is pushed against the wall with a vibe that you’re just looking out into a big empty room.

The TV is definitely too high and feels like it’s floating in space, I feel like wall mounted TVs only really work in a living room when they’re mounted directly above a cabinet, and at that point you might as well not mount it at all. I’d move it in front of the couch with the chair on the periphery closer to the couch.

The layout of the room is definitely a tricky one so i feel for you there, the best spot for the couch is probably on the wall that’s on the right in the first picture with the TV across the room, even though it’s in front of the window, the chair could maybe float in the middle or on the other wall if it’d fit. Add a coffee table and/or ottoman to the middle and you’d have a nice little sitting area with the other walls available for cabinets, shelves and walking since that’s where all the doors are. Some side tables could also help with adding places for cups, etc but they’re not really necessary with a coffee table

Hope that made sense!! Happy to help more if you need and, of course, these are just my opinions so you do you 😄
