Idk what the heck to do with my bedroom. It has never looked quite right to me. I just hung these curtains and I'm really not sure about them. Between the walls, bedding, and now the curtains, are there too many various shades of beige going on? The room overall isn't really my vibe, and I just don't know how to improve it. I'm typically more drawn to earthy/moody vibes.

If it’s in the budget, I’d look at different bed frames. That’s the biggest thing that sticks out to me. The black metal clashes with the beautiful soft warm browns, and the top ending right at the chair rail is awkward.

I kinda love the curtains. I’d maybe add some colour in the bedding and art. Or a throw blanket and cushions

Too much beige. Swap (or dye?) the curtains with a color that matches the area rug. Maybe a green or rust color that compliments the area rug? Add some plants to the room, hanging and/or pots on the floor or a stand for a more earthy feel.

Take the curtains to the ceiling and rethink your palette. Your headboard is also tiny given the scale of the ceiling

Yeah, it sounds like there might be a bit too much beige, which can make the room feel flat, so I’d break it up by adding deeper earthy tones like olive green, rust, or dark brown through pillows, a throw, or even swapping the curtains for something richer, plus mixing in a few textures like wood or woven pieces to give it that moodier vibe.

Definitely think you should change the bed spread. If you pull a color from the rug, it might brighten the room up. The bed frame looks too short, but it’s not a huge deal.

It is a lot of beige, but i like the varying shades!

What if you bring in more anchor color? Burnt sienna or deep orange velvet or mauve curtains to flank the current curtains. Or you could paint under the chair rail. Add a headboard. Get bigger artwork.

If you’re able to invest a bit more, I would change out the rug and bed frame. A wood bed frame and a plusher rug with more texture would make a big difference.

  9. I would add more panels to the curtains for a fuller look – not necessary to add blinds. The art on wall is hung too high and I would replace the bed frame 😞. Your bedding colors are ‘fighting’ – too much contrast.

Lastly, you need to add large lamps on the nightstands to balance the room. Nice room!

That bed frame is a really nice foundation! The issue you’re sensing is definitely all those similar pale beiges washing each other out. To pull it towards that earthy, moody feel you mentioned, swapping the main wall to a deeper color like a rich, muted olive-green would make the frame and white quilt *pop* and create some serious drama. Also, going for much wider curtains in a textured rust-orange would warm things right up and frame the bed better; it’s about contrast and rich tones honestly. The smaller rug by the window seems too small for the space, making it feel a little disjointed.
