Best way to turn this niche into a plant wall?

We have this small niche in our living room that we’d like to turn into a sort of plant wall (were the broom is now)

On the right side, we’ll place some IKEA furniture for our son, so the plant setup would go on the left wall (between the column and the adjacent wall).

We’re considering either:

– Floating black shelves with a small stopper/rail to hold plant pots

– Or an IKEA pegboard setup

I’ve also attached a photo of the space, plus our kitchen/living area since it’s all open-space so ideally it should match the overall style.

Would love to hear ideas or see examples if anyone has done something similar!
