We bought our house a year ago and everything was painted white. The white is fine, but I think I’m ready to start looking into some paints/ wallpapers, and backsplash in the kitchen. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Starting from all-white actually gives you a lot of flexibility – you’re not fighting existing color decisions, so you can really go anywhere.
For paint: rather than committing everywhere at once, starting with one room or accent wall lets you test how you feel about color before doing a whole-house approach. Warm off-whites and greiges (Benjamin Moore Pale Oak or Edgecomb Gray, Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige) are a nice “first step” if you want warmth without a strong hue commitment.
For wallpaper: kitchens and bathrooms are great places to try something bolder since the surface area is contained. An accent wall or just the section behind open shelving can make a big visual impact.
For backsplash: this is often the most rewarding kitchen upgrade because it’s bounded by the counters and upper cabinets – it adds character without competing with everything else. Handmade or zellige-style tile in cream, warm white, or a subtle color adds texture without overwhelming.
What direction are you leaning – warmer and cozier, or more bold?

I love it as it is! But you could also mirror the carpet – some dusty or salmon pink?
