I painted my powder room about a year ago and I’ve hated it every day since. I’d love to wallpaper but lack the skill to do behind the toilet and sink. I’d love recommendations for a moody paint color. I’m not married to the artwork, it is all from goodwill and I can source new ones. Thanks! I love vintage vibes if that helps. My house is from the 90’s but I tend to decorate with more mid century items. I had the sink replaced with a vintage one already.

I love the color with the white. I would maybe paint the mirror a fun color and replace the artwork. The gold and black look out of place.
I am with you on the colour tone and shade. It just seems so lackluster.
If you want drama, and like that shade of blue, go much darker. There is a big chance that you picked the current colour from a chart so look for the dark variant. If you don’t like it darker look across to other dark colours in that shade. Otherwise just go with another colour and/or shade completely.
I always suggest a Google search using terms that represent your current room i.e. small powder room with dark paint and white wainscoting. Now change the search from “all” to “images”.
Do peel and stick wall paper, it’s very forgiving and easy to do
What we did is stenciled the bathroom. Made it much more interesting. We did a large harlequin pattern in a lighter color to compensate for the pattern. We did two adjacent shades.
If just paint I’d do bolder. I would do a dark teal blue or closer to a navy if you like blues. A maroon also could look very cool if you are into vintage.
If you want moody/dark, you could try a navy. I saw a very dark purple powder room once and loved it.
Dark colors I have in my home now that I think would look great in there – SW Griffin, SW Rosemary, Valspar Seine
SW Urbane Bronze is popular right now, I almost used it in my bedroom but went a shade lighter
Since the wainscoting is only on a couple of the walls, I would consider peel and stick paper for those walls and then paint the wall with sink and toilet one of the dark shades from the wallpaper!
