A very enjoyable regional Bourgogne from a top producer. Fruit comes from above Nuits-Saint- Georges.
I get concentrated red fruits (red cherry, raspberry, cranberry, wild strawberry) complemented by a green vegetal note, moss, coffee coco, saddle, toasted wood, wet granite, tree bark — balanced by high acid and medium chalky tannins. The finish is long for a regional Bourgogne. Paul Grieco once told me a good wine is one where you want to finish the bottle yourself. This easily passes that test.
Btw, the Aux Chaumes Lieu-dit seems to make a difference since I also had his general Hautes Côtes des Nuits and it was much thinner.
