Me and my girlfriend love hiking and on our trip to north Georgia we spotted a vineyard from the top of Yonah Mountain. After finding that they were opened for tastings we swung on by and sampled some of their wines.
Most wines here were grown on the property with the exception of a few grapes. All of the vines here are still very young and the tastes reflected that heavily. The whites were both very fruity; citrusy, and stone fruity, while also having a very mineral taste as well. The reds were also very light. The boldest described “genesis 13” was also surprisingly smooth with well integrated tannins.
The flight included 4 samples and a cool collectable Riedel wine glass. The bottles were a little on the expensive side so we left without one, but after a 5 Mile long mountain hike i would recommend it to anyone in the area.
