I’m trying to figure out whether this big arc lamp can work in my living/dining room, or whether it just competes too much with the ceiling lighting and should be removed. Would another place in the room work? Or should we change the main ceiling light for something smaller?
The lamp is very large but also kind of low hanging so if it's not directly pending above something, our heads just bump into it… I bought it because I liked the idea but I don't know if it was a mistake…
Fyi it's a large room but separate into a living space and a dining space…
Also we moved in recently so I'd also be glad to hear your other suggestions about the room, it's not finished yet. We plan to hide the TV cords and also to hang some art over the blue chair in the angle.

You’re going to keep it there no matter what anyone says so why ask? It’s so mismatched that any thing goes
Decor-wise there’s nothing wrong with it; I like the rattan. (I like it better than your ceiling fixture with its barely visible shade and nekkid bulb…) but bumping heads is an issue.
I’m not a big fan of those arched floor lamps; a pole lamp with multiple lights that can put the light where you need it might be a better option for this space.
Put the tv on a stand on the furniture below it
