Do you know what you’re planning on eating? Or are you going to pick the wine then choose the food based on the wine?

Teroldego from Foradori is dreamlike, Albe from Vajra is a safe bet for a modern Barolo, but 245$ for Pergole Torte 2017 is a steal. Probably still a bit too young to be fully evolved, but I’d be pleasantly surprised to find it retail at that price. Have fun!

The Sandro Fay Sforzato…if you haven’t tried this style, you’re in for a treat. Nebbiolo, but produced via the same appassimento (drying) method used for amarone

There are some reasonable prices on those single-cru Barolos, looking like the old school markup. Pira and Fenocchio are among my favorite QPR Barolo makers. 2015, 17, and 20 are all vintages that are “friendly” vintages that tend to be accessible earlier, so less worry about getting something too young.

Barolo Elio grasso 2016. He is an amazing producer and the vintage is one of the best ever. This would be my pick if I didn’t have to pay… all other Barolo are nice but the vintage aren’t the best
