I asked this earlier, but didn't have a good visual representation of the options before. Now I've created graphics that are pretty much to scale (at least, the width of the door, width of the paintings, and the width of the walls on either side of the door).
I have a set of two paintings by the same artist, both landscape orientation. One is larger than the other. I want to hang them on either side of the bathroom door in our hallway.
Should I hang them so that their bottoms are equal distances from the floor (with one extending higher up the wall than the other), or centre-align them? Or top-align them?

Center align.
Have you thought of stacking them on the right side of the door? Would provide more balanced visual weight.
